Man viciously attacked by street thugs, because of Confederate Flag on Truck!

Two buddies went to Salt Lake City to see Garth Brooks in concert, but they forgot one critical piece of equipment when you travel in the big city in a pickup truck displaying a Confederate flag: a gun.

In what could be considered a hate crime, two friends were viciously beaten by a group of black men in a motel parking lot.

Kelly Leeper noticed the men near his friend’s pickup truck, he told Fox 13, there was $50,000 worth of welding equipment in the back of the truck.

Leeper and his friend went to the parking lot to confront the group.

“The point is it’s my right to drive what any kind of vehicle I want. If I want to fly the Confederate Flag, it’s my right,” he said.

Apparently without provocation, one man threw a powerful punch and knocked out Leeper’s friend.  Leeper was then wrestled to the ground and pummeled by six men.

A bystander captured the fight on cellphone video, which has been turned over to Salt Lake City police.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Robin Heiden told the station that it was fortunate someone at the scene wrote down a partial license plate number of the vehicle in which the men fled the parking lot.  “I think we’ll probably be able to track down that vehicle,” she said.

“It could potentially be a hate crime.  We’ll then present all that to the district attorney who will make that final determination.”

Bruised and battered, neither Leeper or his friend were seriously injured.  “I’ll be damned if I ever come to Salt Lake again without bringing my gun,” Leeper said.
