SCV Camp 458 member James E. Bailey, 9/4/49 to 1/8/17.

  James Elbert Bailey passed away in his home on January 08, 2017 in Gresham, Oregan due to health complications. He was 67.
  Mr. Bailey was born on September 04, 1949 in Erin, Houston County, Tennessee to his parents, Thomas Franklin Bailey and Minnie Earlene Bailey (Tidwell). He enlisted for the United States Marine Corps in 1968 was assigned to the 3rd Marine Division. Medically Discharged in 1971. He married his long time love Maria Elva Sanchez in 1973.He graduated with Honors from the Northeastern Illinois University of Chicago with a degree in Bilingual Education in 1985. The Baileys lived between Chicago, Texas and Tennessee where James worked as a Bilingual Teacher and Maria Elva was a housewife and mother.
Mrs. Bailey passed away on January 04, 2009 and we buried at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
  Mr. Bailey was a member of the following Organizations:

Scottish American Military Society- Member and Former Post Commander of Post 1836 “Alamo Defenders” in
San Antonio, Texas.
The Marine Corps League- Member
Clan Bailey- Member
Dynastic Order of the Green Cross- Knight

Boy Scouts of America- Adult Leader
Disable American Veterans- Member
Mexican American Veterans Association- One of the Founders
Northwest Indian Veteran Association- Member
  Mr. Bailey is survived by his daughter Veronica Guadalupe Bailey of Chicago, IL. and his son, Jose Juan Bailey
Sr. of Gresham, OR. Grandson and 2 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bailey will be buried at Fort Sam Houston in a Military Ceremony on February 17th,  2017 at 9am.
